What do you know of The right to public access?

Do you wonder if you are you allowed to put up your tent and camp everywhere? Or if you can pick berries where ever you like? You're not the only one. The right to public access gives us many rights and obligations in forests and in nature, which we may not always be aware of. Or are you? Try the Game of the Rights and see!

In Sweden, the public right applies. It is a tradition with roots dating back hundreds of years to the landscape laws. Today, the universal right is so important that it is mentioned in the Constitution. But there is no law. Rather, we can see it as an agreement on how to behave in nature.

With such an unique benefit, there is of course plenty to learn about it. Can you, for example, get a tent in a horseyard? Or picking berries on someone else's land and selling it yourself at the local market?

The game "The right of public access" has been developed by the Friluftsfrämjandet in collaboration with the Studiefrämjandet and Sverok, with the support of funds from Naturvårdsverket (the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency)

Let´s play the game – and see what level of nature adventurer you are!
